James H. Russell

James H. Russell began his public accounting career in 1976 with a large regional firm in central Wisconsin where he was involved in audits, tax, governmental reporting, and special projects. He left public accounting and spent close to ten years working in industry and serving in various financial and management positions including chief financial officer with responsibilities for operating and strategic budgeting. His industry experience includes responsibilities for multi-state operations and consolidation procedures.

Mr. Russell located to Chattanooga and opened his own practice in February 1991 and joined the firm of Heinemann and Associates PLLC in 2002. Much of his professional work has been involved with the healthcare, not-for-profit organizations, and startup companies. He had consulted with these companies in the areas of budgeting and planning.

Mr. Russell is also part owner of a transportation company. Holder of a CDL, he specializes in that industry and its reporting requirements. He currently serves on the Trucking Conference Committee of the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
